Stage Right provides training and development and consulting support in leadership, management, supervision, business communications, an alternative approach to problem-solving, customer service, coalition and partnership building and conflict management. Stage Right designs competency development frameworks that go beyond training to provide staff, supervisors, managers and leaders resources and a structure for peer coaching that supports using new behaviors. Firm History
Alan Stern began consulting as a part-time endeavor in the late 1970s while working as a school district administrator and later as a senior manager at the New York State Education Department.

For a few years in the early 1990s he was a partner in the consulting firm Meixner and Stern.

In 2004 Alan formed Stage Right Organizational Development, Inc. and has been consulting nationally and internationally since then.
